近日，暴雪官方工作人员发出如下的贴文回复玩家们的质疑：

我憎恨跟你讨论这个，但死亡之翼可不是被我们临时抓来扮歹角的，在整个魔兽故事线中他已经为非作歹很长很长一段时间了。虽然你们曾经和他的孩子和他的爪牙作战，但你们并未真正受到死亡之翼的恶行影响，也因此你们对他的邪恶全无了解。

在大多数人眼里阿尔萨斯脸上贴着个“坏人”的标签，原因是他在《魔兽争霸3：冰封王座》的故事中占了很多戏份，他的故事在许多玩家的心中引起了共鸣。除此以外，还要感谢我们的《冰封王座》制作团队，我相信因为他们的杰出工作让阿尔萨斯这个人物栩栩如生并让他的故事有了很好的延伸性。但我们喜欢向自己发起挑战来争取每时每刻都能做到更多更好。

这也就是说，即便是到了“大灾变”仍有许多可供挖掘的故事等待着你们，那些觉得魔兽世界只能围着阿尔萨斯和巫妖王转的想法未免有些短视了。在艾泽拉斯还有许多很赞的传奇，还有许多故事以及故事中的故事在等着被你发现。

Is Deathwing just being put in to be bigger and badder than Arthas?

I hate to tell you this, but Deathwing isn't just being put in as something bigger and badder. He's been a big and bad for a very long time within the story. You just haven't had the misfortune to deal with him directly though you've had some interactions with his children and minions.

Arthas is the most promininent "bad guy" currently for a few reasons. One being he was someone you interacted with a lot in Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. His story itself also struck a chord with many people. Plus, (I believe) our development teams who worked on The Frozen Throne and the various aspects of the expansion did a pretty amazing job with making the continuing story come alive and move forward. So the epic nature of what has transpired seems untoppable to some. We like to challenge ourselves to do more and better every time.

That said, there is a lot of story that is still being explored and left to explore. To diminish that story to only being about Arthas and the Lich King is a bit short-sighted. There are many prominent figures in the lore and many stories and stories within stories to be told.
